Why have a Wedding Planner to support your Wedding Journey?

Hello!

Charlotte here!

It has been a while, I took a bit of a Christmas break away from the blog but now back for all that 2022 brings!

So the last post was why you might need a wedding day coordinator for your wedding, but this blog is for if you are thinking a little longer term: a wedding planner. Many planners (like me) offer full and partial wedding planning or wedding planning ‘hours’ where you can have 1:1 time with a planner.

So for this blog post I am going to outline what planners can do for you. Different planners offer different services so it can often be difficult to put it into one shortened list. They do however provide you with that wedding personal assistant and allow you to enjoy your engagement without the stress of planning. However, I have put below some elements that many of us will provide:

  • Wedding event advice

  • Reading contracts

  • Sourcing suppliers (often from a list of trusted suppliers they have worked with before)

  • Wedding timelines (including supplier timelines)

  • Wedding day of coordination

If you are searching for a luxury wedding planner it is more than likely that they will do a little more than this including full event styling and with very little for the couple to do apart from some key decisions and their own attire. Others (like myself) are very much guided by what their couple needs so our activities are much more varied: researching suppliers, advising on part of the wedding design, wedding event advice and reading contracts. Finally, there are some planners who just provide the advice side of things and then collate everything and run the wedding day.

My big tip is that you should find the planner who is right for you and provides the services you wish. Of course you should vibe with them and get on well, but just make sure that you find a planner that can do all that you want within your budget!
