5 Ways to Apply a bit of Disney Magic to your wedding

Hello!

Charlotte here!

I’ve been watching quite a bit of Disney’s Fairytale Weddings recently and it has rather inspired me to think about how you can theme a wedding, but with that Disney twist!

There are a few obvious ways to integrate Disney into your wedding, (one or two i’ve listed below), such as the dress, invitations, cake, shoes, or if you just go all out and have a Disney themed wedding! But often you just want to integrate a few touches throughout your wedding, so keep scrolling for a few ideas for you to sprinkle some Disney across your wedding.

Bouquet

You could go with certain flowers such as roses, blossoms, daffodils or pansies throughout your ceremony and reception spaces, but I think your bouquet makes a particular statement. If you want to make it really stand out, your bouquet doesn’t even have to go with the rest of your theme. The other option is to pick a certain film and go with the flowers from that film or a certain sequence. For example the flowers featured in Waltz of the Flowers from Fantasia or a posy of wildflowers found in Bambi. You could also add little trinkets around your bouquet stems such as a shoe charm from Cinderella.

Music

Perhaps an obvious one - but music is a huge part of Disney, but you can use it throughout the day whether it is in and around the ceremony or reception, first dance, or you could ask your band or DJ to sing the odd song two. If there is a particular song that means something to you, walk down the aisle to it. If you get worried that you are including too many Disney songs throughout the day you could turn to instrumental versions of some of your favourites (spotify has a number of these on offer), or turn to the musical themes (the Lion King soundtrack is gorgeous).

Activities

There are plenty of ways in which you can adapt certain activities with the odd Disney theming. The tables could have Disney based Bingo cards and the confetti could be Mickey- ear-shaped. If you are having lawn games: Robin Hood archery or Alice in Wonderland croquet works great. If you have children attending you could have activity packs with a Disney theme, that could include little word searches or work books, such as: https://tinyurl.com/yhrmkdk4

Favours

Not my favourite thing at a wedding (particularly if you don’t have a limitless budget), but edible cookies or chocolate shaped as Mickey Mouse ears or a little rose on the plate of every guest. Etsy (like usual!) is great for these little favours or if you buy a chocolate mould you can make little chocolate favours yourself.

Centrepieces

You can go wild here: flowers, ornaments, vintage tea sets, roses in lanterns. Pinterest has so many ideas but make sure it doesn’t blow your budget. You could either theme it overall (such as Cinderella with each table having a collection of pumpkins filled with small flowers), or each table has a certain film which also helps with table planning!

Have you got any other ideas? Did you slyly integrate Disney into your own wedding?
